Healthiest Life 4 Me

Well, folks!  It’s been a crazy, busy life lately.  I think about blogging often, but just haven’t been able to find the time to do anything but work and workout, so I am sorry! But I do want to catch you up with what I’ve been up to! 

First off, I am no longer working towards the Max Formation Challenge but still working towards my goal of 16% bodyfat.  Although, there seems to always be a week 6 set back.  But back on track finally and heading back towards my goal. 

At the moment, I am a long term sub at El Cerrito Middle School in an elective class that is a Consumer Science (Home Ec type class).  It has been a lot of fun.  I am half way through this job and am gonna miss it a ton when it’s over.  I have some great kids and enjoy all their personalities so much.  Right now the kids are creating menu’s for their own restaurant on the classwork days and cooking on the lab days.  We have made Easy Cookies (a quick oatmeal cookie), Sweet Potato Fries (with yams not sweet potatoes because there weren’t enough at the store) which the kids were pleasantly surprised that they liked, some of my classes (the extremely good ones) made Baked Mozzarella, and Chocolate Chip Cookies.  Last food lab is this week and I am still trying to decide what to make with them.  Then we have testing for a week with this group of kids.  Since I teach the elective class, they switch every 5 weeks and I will get a new group for a week, but won’t get to have much fun with them because it is a testing week also!

That is right, EACH WEEK!!  They did this without raising the prices on ANY of their products, not even the enhanced one!  I can say, this company is like no other.you won’t find a company that cares more about the people working with it than this one!  Their mission is truly to enhance EVERYONE’S LIFE!!  You choose whether it is for wealth, health or both!! I sure pick both!  And I do all this in addition to what I am already doing.  You wouldn’t be expected to give up anything.  This company is looking for people who want to have their next 5 years be different than the last 5 years of their lives.  Do you want to work hard?  Or do you want to work SMART?  I pick smart!! So, I finally finished up my long term position in the “Alternative” education school.which is sold as wonderful, and yet somehow is failing to reach the standards it has set out.  But Monday morning was my first day back to being a day-to-day sub and I got a call for my favorite middle school.  I had a wonderful day.  One of my classes was a bit difficult, but I knew that I would not be treated like an idiot by anyone in administration for not making friends with those kids.  After all, I am there for a purpose, not to make friends.  But anyhow.I realized after just the one day, that I do really like the idea of becoming a teacher and that the right job will come my way.  And when it does.I will jump on it.  Overall, I am so sad not to see a specific teacher that I made friends with at that school, but it feels really good not to be there anymore.  I am already sleeping better and feeling good about working.  Overall, it was a great experience and some of those students really made a difference in my life.and I hope I did impact theirs a bit.  But some jobs aren’t for me and that school isn’t a fit!  Glad to have learned it and not after taking an actual job!

I took today and tomorrow off of subbing to clean my much neglected house and OMG I could clean for days and not feel very much accomplished.  But gonna work my butt off tomorrow and hope that something sparkles by the end of the day.  HAHA!! 

And with all this, I have made some great connections, friends and even gained much confidence that I will make a great teacher and that I love to watch kids connect with education and their lives.  And I know that even in subbing, I will get to see that.  During the prep period I had at the middle school on Monday, I came across 2 students that I had my first 3 days of subbing and got a big hug from the young lady and the young man was wondering when I would sub for one of their teachers again.  It was a good feeling!!  (Also my favorite school because one kid asked me how I finished college at 18 since you have to finish college to be a sub.How do you not love a school when you are called 18 when you’re pushing 33?!?!)
